Ali Hassan, Physiotherapist

Ali was born in India, grew up in Dubai, and migrated to Canada in 2002 to pursue his further education. He graduated with a Bachelor of Biology with Honours from McGill University in 2006, and obtained a Master of Science in Medical Genetics from the University of British Columbia in 2009. Inspired by a visit to a Physiotherapist for an injury, and with a drive to work with and help people, he pursued and obtained a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2013.

Ali has experience working with a variety of orthopaedic and neurological conditions. He is certified in soft tissue release, is a Contemporary Medical Acupuncture provider, certified in Mulligan mobilization, McKenzie protocol,  Neuro-Kinetic Therapy (NKT), Cranial therapy, and in advanced Proprioceptive Deep Tendon Reflex (p-DTR) therapy (which helps to reset the “software” issues of the body that are delaying healing and recovery). Ali loves to be Sherlock by using these various techniques to get to the heart of an issue and to come up with an individualized care plan. Ali is a firm believer in hands-on care and active exercises geared towards the client’s goals and needs, to ultimately attain optimal quality of life and function.

Ali spends his spare time engaging in various hobbies ranging from active to creative. He is an avid hiker, traveller, baker, knitter, and learning how to play the guitar.
